Telecommunications infrastructure is entering an expansion cycle driven by AI, data center demand, and nationwide fiber investment.
The industry is booming, but the boom won’t go on forever.
Tandem Utilities was purpose-built by industry experts to capture this moment the right way. We give strong operators the structure, alignment, and support they need to scale without breaking.
Independent operators are the industry, but as demand accelerates so does back-end operations complexity.
Growth introduces pressure which means systems become fragmented, processes break down, and operational burdens pull leaders away from execution.
Tandem Utilities is a platform designed by industry leaders to help high-performing telecom contractors scale. With clarity, stability, and alignment.
Centralized operational infrastructure Scalable systems and processes Strategic guidance and disciplined growth Alignment across operators, leadership, and capital.
It's simple. Operators focus on execution. We handle what supports sustained, manageable growth.
Tandem Utilities is not building a collection of companies. Tandem Utilities is building a platform where independent operators can scale beyond their individual limits without sacrificing what makes them successful.
This is about more than capturing a cycle.
Tandem Utilities was built by operators who have tackled this problem in their own careers. Together, they saw the same pattern: Strong operators were being held back, not by demand, but by structure.
With Tandem Utilities that all changes.
Brad started in telecom in 1986, working alongside his father. That’s where he developed a foundation in infrastructure and large-scale network builds.
Eventually, Brad struck out on his own, launching and scaling his own company expanding underground fiber and long-haul construction nationwide. That business was ultimately acquired by MasTec, leading to firsthand experience in how large-scale platforms are built, integrated, and scaled.
In addition to his experience at MasTec, the dot-com cycle and industry downturn taught Brad the importance of structure, discipline, and building companies that perform across cycles not just within them.
It was during this downturn that Brad founded Brad’s Raw Foods, scaling it into a nationally distributed brand before exiting. He proved to himself that he could build, grow, and transition businesses across industries.
Today, though, his focus is back where it started: telecom and infrastructure.
Trey has spent years in the broadband and telecommunications space (the Peppers family has spent over three decades in telecom). Working closely with contractors, utilities, and network providers, Trey himself has gained a firsthand understanding of both the opportunities in the market and the constraints operators face as they grow.
To him, the telecom industry isn’t just about scale, it’s about building systems that can grow without breaking and forging something that lasts.
That’s why at Tandem Utilities Trey leads market expansion, sales strategy, and partner acquisition relationships.
Trey wants his leadership at Tandem Utilities to be about two things: rapid, stable growth in a high-demand market and bringing the access and insight that fuels that growth.
